Guide to growing seeds suitable for kids

Not sure what to do during this June holidays? Why not start planting as an educational and enriching activity for you and your little ones to engross yourselves in? Gardening is a wonderful way to bond with your kids and for them to learn the importance of responsibility! Here is how you can start growing your seeds easily!

Before you start:

Get your materials ready!

Materials:

Growing tray
Soil
Gardening tool
Seeds
Spray bottle

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Add soil into the tray and pat it gently

You can start growing your seed in almost any container with drainage holes and is 2-3 inches deep.

Step 2: Moisten the surface of the soil by spraying some water

Step 3: Sprinkle 3-5 seeds and cover them up with a thin layer of soil

Step 4: Cover the pot or tray with a lid to prevent the soil from drying out

Make sure the seeds can “breath” by making holes on the lid.

Step 5: Place the tray in a shaded area with indirect sunlight

Now, you just need to wait for your seeds to start sprouting!
