Mint is one of the easiest herbs to grow. A highly aromatic perennial, this plant is a major genus of the Lamiaceae family. Known for being hardy due to its vigorous growth habits, Mint does not require much care. Freshen your palate when you add this plant to your food or beverages. Apart from being kitchen companions, you can also use mint as garden accents, ground covers, air fresheners and herbal medicines. Here’s how you can take care of your Mint plants:

General care:

Light

Place your Mint in areas where they can receive morning sunlight. Avoid placing them under afternoon sun. If you are placing your mint indoors, it is recommended to place them by the windowsill or areas where it can get indirect sunlight.

Water

Water when the soil of your mint feels dry. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged. Look out for tell-tale signs that your plant needs watering. The foliage of your mint will start wilting, an indication that it is time to water. It is recommended to water in the morning to ensure that your plant has enough moisture when the afternoon sun hits.

Potting Medium

While Mint grow rapidly and can adapt well to most soil type, it will thrive better when you pair them with soil that is suitable for edibles. Mint prefers a fertile soil with a pH level from 6.0 – 7.0. Well-draining soil is essential as waterlogged soil can cause root rot. Try our Bio-organic soil which is formulated for strong and healthy plant growth.
